A little more about me
This little corner of the internet is where I share real life – the good food, the wellbeing experiments, the lovely places, the lessons, the laughter and the occasional ‘what on earth is going on?’ moment. I’m based in Essex, close enough to London to enjoy everything it offers, but also surrounded by plenty of brilliant places, walks and independent businesses closer to home.

By day, I’m the director of an award-winning marketing agency, which means life is busy, creative and rarely quiet. At home, I have two children, three stepchildren and Maggie, our rescue dog, who naturally believes she is in charge of all of us. It is a full house, a full diary and a very full heart.
I’m also navigating perimenopause, a changing body and a spectacular collection of food intolerances. I try to live healthily, but I’m not here to sell perfection. I’m learning what works for my body as it changes, and the recipes I share will include straightforward swaps wherever possible, whether you eat everything or need vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free or alcohol-free options. I enjoy food and drink in a way that suits my body and my life, without expecting every choice to be perfect. It is about finding balance that actually fits your life – not following rules for the sake of it.
Walking and yoga help keep me sane. I love travel, discovering new places, meeting people and trying things I have never done before. When a big trip is not happening, I’m just as happy finding a brilliant local walk, a great meal or somewhere unexpected close to home.
I’ve lived enough life to know that none of us has it completely sorted. I’ve also spent a lot of time working on myself – the practical stuff, the emotional stuff and, yes, a little bit of the woo-woo stuff. The biggest thing I have learned is that life is far too short to give quite so much of a stuff about what other people think.
This blog is a place for honest experiences, genuinely useful recommendations, good food, better choices, fresh starts and the reminder that you are allowed to keep evolving. If something I share makes your day easier, helps you feel less alone or gives you a new place, recipe or idea to try, then it has done its job.
